Tuesday Night @ Phunk Bar

Yes. Yes. I'm out on a school night! Though this time, I was doing something a little less ordinary...

I've mentioned several times about some competition in my previous posts. Well, that 'competition' happened yesterday. And needless to say, it was a modelling competition.

Rushed down to M5 after school dismissed at 2.15pm. I reached at about 3pm, and I was like "Man! I'm too early!" But well, three people beat me to that spot. *sigh* No matter. Anyway, I took a much-needed bath there (yes, there was a shower), and started gettng ready for the big event that night. It turned out that the formal segment was first, instead of the originally planned casual segment. So, the lot of us (by this time there were about six or seven) changed into the tops supplied by Bugis Street (I hate that place!). Thank heavens I brought my blazer along! Cos the shirt supplied wasn't exactly nice. So yeah. Anyway, the procedure was that there would be an elimination round where fifteen out of the twenty-eight of us would be voted out.

We had several brief rehersals and before I knew it, the guests started arriving and we had to go backstage to get ready.

Let me skip all the way to after I did my walk. Apparently, it seemed that the crowd wasn't exactly coorperative so we had to personally request for votes from the audience. This was one heck of an embarassment, but I didn't have time to care much. So well, got myself several votes in the form of cash (in order to vote, one must put a sum of money into the respective model's tin. What a ripoff!).

A little later, it was time for the casual segment and elimination round. We changed into our casual outfits (which we owned). I brought the shirt that steph gave me! xD. Similar to the first round, we catwalked out into the fray, did a few poses and returned backstage. As for the elimination round, it was so like American Idol! All the contestants were supposed to assembel on stage and the emcees would call about four of five of them out, and inform them whether they're staying or have been eliminated. After all was said and done and about three groups (two of them were eliminated, one stayed) later, the emcees announced that the rest of us were going to the finals! I was like "WHAT?!!!" Cause I so did not expect this to happen! My shock and happiness was rather clear to the crowd I guess =))

Next up was the "Question & Answer" round. The question I got was "If you could eliminate one of the contestants, who would it be?" Such a question would naturally stun most people, and I'm not ashamed to say that I was taken aback for a few seconds. When I regained my composure, I said to the crowd that I wouldn't eliminate anyone, as all of us have worked so hard to make it this far, and as such, if I had the chance to pick the winner, it would be everyone who had participated tonight (cliche but true).

I'll skip all the way to the final elimination round. This was the final time we'll be going out that night, and one winner would be chosen among the thirteen of us. The elimination process was similar to the first round. So once the smoke had cleared and all was said and done, we found out that Amin, one of my fellow models, had picked up the victory. Strangely enough, I wasn't disappointed at all, but in fact, I was happy for myself and all of us. (I know, this is also cliche but absolutely positively true)
